This art work made an impression on me because of how dark the image is. It feels kind of mysterious to me. Using my imaginations I can picture different scenarios on who these people were. Their faces tell some sort of story. The little girl may have grown up without her parents and I can make a connection to this because I have many family/friends that have gone through situations like this. I would like to know more about the story of this art work.

-George Wesley Bellows-

This artwork made me smile a lot because of the faces these men are making. I love the colors and movements of it, it looks so natural. These people look like they`re just going through their everyday life having fun doing what they love. I can make a connection with this piece because this is exactly how I look when I'm with my friends having fun. I would like to know why the artist chose to make this piece and what it means to him.

-Jehan Georges Vibert-

The setting of this painting and the bright colors of the people in the painting is what popped out the most. She's holding something that also looks like another painting. I like the movement of the painting on the walls.

This piece popped out to me because of how simple it looks. One side looks like a pencil drawing and the other looks like a painting. It kind of looks unfinished which is very interesting. I want to know why he created it this way.

This a piece I automatically thought about putting in my room. I love the movements its making and how dark the colors get on the bottom. It looks very satisfying. I feel like the artist just painted his emotions and I would like to know if I'm right about that.

-Barnaby Furnas-

This stood out to me because it looked different. The object on the right looks like a shape of a gun.  I feel like this is something I would redraw myself just because of all the shapes it has.

My very own logo!

Creating my logo was actually very fun and therapeutic. I thought a lot about what represents me and I decided to draw out my very first tattoo. The meaning of it is self love,  I consider myself a rose . My tattoo is actually just the outline of the rose there are no colors in it. So what I decided to do instead of coloring the rose red with green leaves; I decided to color the layers different to represent imperfections. I am not just one perfect red rose, I have imperfections.  I see that a lot of logos are pretty simple so a symbol of myself (rose) and my nick name on the side felt right. Creating the logo made me realize that I can actually use this as an actual logo for my photography page on Instagram.
I watched the first video in logo resources and it was very helpful in creating logos, it was a nice video to watch. The other two videos I feel were not as fun too watch and I wasn't interested while watching it because of how old it was...

SCALES!!

Creating the color wheel was pretty fun just simply looking at the colors changing and also just simply painting is really fun. I enjoyed working with the painting than the pencil because I basically use a pencil everyday, using paint make things fun especially when you don't paint very often. I never knew that cyan, magenta, and yellow were primary color, all my life I always thought it was red, blue and yellow. The videos helped me understand and create the color wheel better.

Aesthetics

In the first video on aesthetics I learned about the different philosophers throughout history such as Plato and his theory on beauty and Alexander Baumgraten (from the renaissance) who actually brought up the concept of aesthetics who I also believe is one of the most important because he influenced Kant. In the second video I learned about what parts of the brain we use to be artistic and creative. In the article I learned an interesting fact that we make faces out, for example we know that this :) is a side ways happy face because our brain has a way of seeing facial features on things. He believed the most disgusting can be beautified. According to Changeus aesthetics comes from the pre frontal cortext. Ramachandran speaks about culture in art and how art is Universal. Culture plays a role in aesthetics what one fine beautiful might no be to the other. These videos relate to the text and the article because it talks about the foundation of aesthetics in different ways. The article and the video give a better example of aesthetics in a scientific and historic way.

My very first post!!

Setting up my gmail account was easy and so was setting up my blog, I honestly was very excited setting up, I think this a fun part of class and I`m looking forward to the rest of the semester. I feel very well prepared in taking an online class because I've taken two online classes in the past. I learned how to be more well organized. Three thing's that applied most to me from the growth mindset video was in the first video was the determination one of the speakers had in the video; my freshmen year and a little bit of sophomore year I was a bit behind. But then I accomplished my studies because I didn't give up. Another thing that applied to me was when the video stated "it takes effort to train your brain" this is a fact you can't train your brain by doing nothing you have to make yourself learn! Finally, the examples of people who others thought would never become successful but proved others wrong; there's a lot of potential in me I just have to keep working for it and paying no mind to what others think of me.
